2001 MCI Airport Exercise


On Sept. 28, 2001, an exercise was conducted in Franklin County to test an area response to a plane crash and chemical release in the Burlington Northern-Santa Fe trainyard near the airport. There were about 140 volunteers that acted as victims. Lourdes MC, Kadlec MC and KGH were involved in the exercise, as well as, EMS, Fire and Law Enforcement from around the Tri Cities area. FEMA evaluated the response portion of the exercise and the FAA evaluated the airport related side of the exercise.
