Emergency Worker Assistance Center (EWAC) Exercise


On September 21, 2002, FCEM conducted an federally evaluated Emergency Worker Assistance Center drill. The drill was conducted in the City of Pasco. The Columbia Basin College (CBC) was the facility where all the action took place. The drill tested Franklin County's capability to monitor, decontaminate and shelter residents evacuating from areas in Franklin County near the Columbia Generating Station nuclear plant. The nuclear plant is operated by Energy Northwest. Following is a number of pictures that were taken during the exercise.
