Emergency Worker Assistance Center (EWAC) Exercise
On June 19, 1999, FCEM conducted the first Department of Energy-Richland (DOE-RL) EWAC drill. The drill was conducted in the City of Connell. The Connell High School was the facility where all the action took place. The drill tested Franklin County's capability to monitor, decontaminate and shelter residents evacuating from areas in Franklin County near the Hanford site. Following is a number of pictures that were taken during the drill.
